Yoga with Jess
Meet Jess!
Jess is an E-RYT 200 hour yoga instructor registered with Yoga Alliance and a certified Pilates instructor. She is a giant anatomy and physiology nerd who loves to dance, garden, cook, make things with her hands, and read everything she can about how human bodies work and how to help them function better. She has been teaching yoga for over a decade, and has run retreats in Mexico, Nicaragua and Upstate New York.
She believes yoga is not a one-size-fits-all practice, and that the safest and most advanced practice is slow (which is more physically demanding than moving quickly!) and intentional (why are we doing this pose? What does it do? How can it help?). Her classes are a creative, light-hearted, alignment-based harmony of many styles both traditional and contemporary. Be prepared to work hard, play harder, reward yourself, get out of your head, and feel better.
Sunday Complete
9:00-10:00 am
This 60-minute practice includes it all – a slow thoughtful warm-up that moves into more active shapes and ends with some stretchy goodness. Expect to challenge yourself in strengthening postures, move slowly and methodically to reduce mental and physical stress, and lessen aches and pains with a targeted flow that releases tight muscles and increases joint mobility. This class welcomes all bodies and levels.
Wednesday Strength & Stretch
6:15-7:15 pm
This 60-minute class is the perfect mid week practice – strengthen and tone your core, legs, arms and back, and then stretch and release your shoulders, hips, legs, upper and lower back. Expect a brief warm-up to get out of your head and into your body, before moving into challenging longer holds followed by deeply nourishing shapes and exercises that release soft tissue and tight muscles. This class welcomes all bodies and levels.
